November 02, 2022
Swiss leader in precision machining services, Acrotec Group, has acquired Singapore-based Team-Metal, in a bid to strengthen its international activities in the Medtech field.
The acquisition followed another one, that of Ireland-based Takumi. With this latest addition, Acrotec Group now numbers about ten companies (out of a total of 27 companies in the group) who design, develop and manufacture devices or equipment components for the medical sector.
This is a significant development for Team-Metal as it opens up space for collaboration with other companies of the group and participation in joint innovative projects, as well as access to wider markets. Acrotec is currently working on about 15 medtech projects, each involving at least two companies of the group. In this way, the group is able to act as a real a one-stop shop capable to offer its clients a wide array of services done in-house and technological competences which complement each other perfectly, including
design, machining, surface treatments, laser welding, electroforming and finishings. For Acrotec, the acquisition of Team-Metal has opened new doors for access to Asian market from Europe. All Acrotec group’s companies active in medical technology should benefit from this opening, as they have expertise in miniaturization and high precision which are highly valued and sought after competencies in the developing Asian medical market.
